How much听you鈥檒l听be paid听
拢874 per hectare (ha) per year听
Action鈥檚 aim听
This action鈥檚 aim is that horticultural land used to produce vegetables or salad crops is converted from conventional management to organic management.听
The purpose of this is to increase the overall area of land registered and managed as organic.听
Where you can do this action听
You can do this action on agricultural land听located听below the moorland line that鈥檚:听
-
registered as 鈥榠n conversion鈥� with a Defra-licensed organic control听body听
-
used to grow at least 1 horticultural crop in each land parcel听entered into听this action听
-
an eligible land type (as defined in section 5.1.1 鈥楨ligible land types鈥� in the SFI26 scheme information)听
-
registered with an eligible land cover on your digital maps听
-
declared with a land use听code which is compatible with the eligible land cover听
Land is not eligible for this action if you鈥檝e previously:听

registered it with an organic control body听
-
received organic conversion aid or funding for it听

Eligibility of protected land听
Sites of special scientific interest (SSSIs): Eligible 鈥� you must:听听

give notice to Natural听England to get SSSI consent before the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) offer you an SFI26 agreement听

have received SSSI consent from Natural England before you do this action (read section 10.1 鈥楽SSI consent鈥� in the SFI26 scheme information for more details)听
Historic and archaeological features: Eligible 鈥� you must get an SFI HEFER before you do this action (read section 5.3听鈥楲and with historic or archaeological features鈥� in the SFI26 scheme information to find out how to do this).听
Available area you can听enter into听this action听
Total or part of the available area in a land parcel.听It鈥檚听your responsibility to check that the area you enter is eligible for this action.听
You must do this action on the area听entered into听your SFI26 agreement. If something happens which means you cannot complete this action on some or听all of听the area, you must tell the RPA in writing as soon as possible. Rotational or static action听
For non-permanent horticultural crops grown on arable land this action is rotational. This means for the second year of organic conversion you can either:听

For permanent horticultural crops, this action is static. This means you must do it at the same location each year of this action鈥檚 duration.听听
What to do听
You must:听

follow the organic conversion plan for the land听entered into听this action and associated livestock, as approved and signed off by your organic control body听

comply with听organic standards on land听entered into听this action from the start of organic conversion period until this action鈥檚 end date听
-
complete organic conversion and register the land听entered into听this action as 鈥榝ully organic鈥� before this action鈥檚 end date听

You must do this action from its start date, throughout each year of this action鈥檚 duration until the land is registered as 鈥榝ully organic鈥�.听

a valid organic certificate and schedule for all land听entered into听this action 鈥� this must cover at least the full period of this action鈥檚 duration听
