Regional escalationÌý
Regional escalation poses significant security risks and has led to travel disruption.  Ìý
The Iranian regime has publicly stated its intention to target locations associated with the United States and Israel. This includes US-linked organisations, businesses, facilities and institutions.
Stay away from areas around security or military facilities, and US-linked locations.
Iranian strikes against civilian infrastructure across the region such as ports, hotels, roads, bridges, energy facilities, oil production sites, water systems, and airports, have decreased. However, the risk of renewed strikes remains, and further attacks could occur at short notice.

Shelter in placeÌý
Follow the instructions of the local authorities. If you receive a warning alert, hear the sound of interceptions or are advised to take shelter, stay indoors or find the nearest safe building or designated shelter. An interior stairwell or a room with as few external walls or windows as possible may provide additional protection. Remain inside until the authorities confirm it is safe to resume normal activity.
The Qatari Ministry of Interior publishes announcements on its social media channels.Ìý
If you are moving around outdoors, take sensible precautions. Stay alert to developments.

Entry to Saudi Arabia
Qatar’s land border with Saudi Arabia at Abu Samra is currently open.ÌýCheck the status of the crossing before you travel.ÌýÌý
If you do decide to travel:Ìý
-
make sure you have enough food, water, and essential medication
-
ensure you have the correct documentation, including valid passports, vehicle documents if needed, and any required visas
-
confirm your onward travel arrangements from the Saudi side, as commercial transport options may be limited and must be arranged directly with providers
-
you may wish to use a tour operator, bus service, or taxi company familiar with the Abu Samra crossing, as they are more likely to be aware of current conditions
