The National Housing Bank, a听Homes听England听company,听has听today announced that it has听joined as a cornerstone investor in Starlight UK鈥檚听Build-to-Rent听(BTR)听Fund II,听supporting the acceleration of new rental home delivery across England.听The听investment reflects听a听shared commitment to expanding听the supply of听rental housing and enabling growth in places where new homes are听needed most.听听

This听equity听investment听is听made through Homes England鈥檚 newly established National Housing Bank 鈥� the听government鈥檚 new vehicle for long鈥憈erm place鈥憇haping and housing investment. Operating as part of Homes England, the听bank deploys flexible, government鈥慴acked听capital听across funds,听platforms听and partnerships to unlock housing and regeneration projects, crowding in private capital and accelerating delivery at scale.听
Starlight Investments, headquartered in Toronto, has听operated听in the UK since 2020 and currently manages a portfolio of 4,000 homes and 拢1.1 billion in assets under management. The National Housing Bank鈥檚 investment, alongside significant commitments from a diverse base of global institutional investors, advances Starlight鈥檚 growing UK platform.听
The听Build-to-Rent Fund II will develop professionally managed rental housing in structurally undersupplied markets, including major regional cities such as Manchester,听Liverpool听and Leeds, as well as key London Commuter Belt locations. The homes will be听located听close to employment,听education听and transport 鈥撎齭upporting wider economic growth and regeneration in local communities.听
