Mike Tapp was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Home Office on 6 September 2025.
He was elected as the MP for Dover and Deal in July 2024.

- oversight of existing safe routes schemes: Ukraine Family Scheme, Homes for Ukraine Scheme, Afghan Citizens Resettlement Scheme, Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy, Hong Kong British Nationals (Overseas), Gaza and IsraelÂ
- Future Borders and Immigration System and digital transformation
