MONET - MOF-based negative emissions technology

Project lead: Promethean Particles Limited

The project involved the design and fabrication of a prototype carbon capture unit that utilised Metal Organic Frameworks (MOFs) as the novel solid sorbent.  It was tested at Drax’s CCUS Incubation Site to demonstrate the separation of carbon dioxide from Drax’s industrial flue gas stream. A Lifecycle Assessment (LCA) and Technoeconomic Analysis (TEA) were also conducted within this project, based on the data collected from test trials at Drax.
