This progress statement sets out the government’s work to date on copyright and artificial intelligence (AI). It also explains the steps we are taking to prepare:
- a report on the use of copyright works in the development of AI systems
- an economic impact assessment
The report and impact assessment are required by sections 135 and 136 of the Data (Use and Access) Act.
