We have replaced this direction with a revised direction issued on 22 July 2019.
This direction requires the council to take steps to improve its children’s social care services, including co-operating with the DfE appointed Children’s Services Commissioner Helen Lincoln and Essex county council.
It follows a that judged the overall effectiveness of the council’s children’s social care services to be inadequate.
