Highlights of the DVLA annual report and accounts:

  • we issued 10.6 million driving licences and 12.9 million registration certificates
  • 47.1 million customers taxed their vehicles with 39.8 million (84.5%) choosing to do so online
  • launched a new service for company tachographs
  • placed as the UK’s number 1 Public Service national organisation by the Institute of Customer Service
  • we retained both the Customer Service Excellence and Customer Contact Association standards
  • we achieved £9 million cost reduction in year
  • we collected over £6 billion in Vehicle Excise Duty (VED)
  • we won several awards including:
  • winner at the Public Sector Paperless awards for our Personalised Registration service
  • winner at the Public Finance Innovation awards
  • winner of the Fair Play Employer awards
  • winner at the Business Continuity awards
  • we raised £58,803 for our Charity of Choice 2018, Maggie’s Swansea
