DVLA annual report and accounts 2020 to 2021

Here are some of DVLA’s achievements for 2020-21:

  • we issued 8.8 million driving licences and 16.3 million registration certificates
  • 46.7 million customers taxed their vehicles with 98% choosing to do so digitally
  • we developed 10 new digital services
  • achieved planned IT service availability of 99.94% for our digital services
  • we generated £175.2 million for government from the sales of Personalised Registrations
  • we retained the Customer Service Excellence Standard for the 12th consecutive year
  • we retained our place as one of the top five Public Services organisations as measured by the Institute of Customer Service
  • we won the Civil Service Communication Award for the Vehicle Tax Evasion campaign 2020
  • we were triple award winners at the UK National GO Awards for Best Environmental Impact; Leadership of the year and the GO Excellence Award
