Privacy Notice for the NFI Social Housing Fraudulent Sub Letting Pilot

This notice sets out how we will use your personal data, and your rights. It is made under Articles 13 and/or 14 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR).Ìý

Purpose
The purpose for which we are processing your personal data is:Â
The Cabinet Office (National Fraud Initiative – NFI) conducts regular data sharing and analytics pilots to evaluate and improve data matching methodology. In this way, the NFI can continue to help detect and prevent fraud in the most efficient and effective way possible.
This Privacy Notice is applicable to a pilot involving data match to prevent fraudulent social housing sub-letting via an online marketplace and hospitality brokerage website.

Legal basis of processingÂ
The legal basis for processing your personal data is:Â
The legal basis for processing your personal data is that it is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or the exercise of official authority vested in the data controller (Article 6(1)(e) UK GDPR). The NFI is conducted using the data matching powers bestowed on the Minister for the Cabinet Office by Part 6 of the Local Audit and Accountability Act 2014 (LAAA).

Recipients
Your personal data will be shared by us with:

- Birmingham City Council
- City of Edinburgh Council
- Isle of Anglesey County Council
- Airbnb Ireland UC
- Synectics Solutions Limited SIRA
As your personal data will be stored on our IT infrastructure it will also be shared with our data processors who provide email, and document management and storage services.Ìý

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERSÂ
As your personal data is stored on our Corporate IT infrastructure, and shared with our data processors, it may be transferred and stored securely outside the UK. Where that is the case it will be subject to equivalent legal protection through an adequacy decision, reliance on Standard Contractual Clauses, or reliance on a UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
As your data will be shared with Airbnb Ireland UC who are providing a data matching service to us, it will be stored securely outside the UK.Ìý
As a global organisation Airbnb also uses sub-processors around the world.
Where that is the case, it will be subject to equivalent legal protection through:
An adequacy decision by the UK Government Standard Contractual Clauses and/or a UK International Data Transfer Agreement
