Details

The Newton Fund builds research and innovation partnerships with countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America to support economic development and social welfare, tackle global challenges and develop talent and careers.

The evaluation of the Newton Fund collected evidence on how the Fund was achieving its objectives. It also makes recommendations for future research and innovation activities.

Published alongside the report:

  • a UK benefits study which explores the UK benefits arising from the Newton Fund
  • a review of research quality which examines the nature and quality of Newton Fund research

The country case studies set out:

  • the country-level research and innovation environment
  • an explanation of how the Newton Fund has operated in-country
  • case studies of 3 projects in each country
  • an assessment of progress on planned outputs and outcomes
