To inform you that, following a recent outbreak of听peste听des听petits听ruminants听virus (PPR), imports of the following commodities from Croatia should be held while restrictions are implemented:听听
- live sheep and goats (GBHC 630 and 631)听
- ovine and caprine germplasm (GBHC 820, 821 and 822)听
- raw milk and听raw听milk products derived from ovine and caprine animals (GBHC 410 and 411)听听
- fresh and chilled (untreated) hides and skins of听ovine and caprine animals听(GBHC听540)听听听
- untreated听wool听and hair听from ovine and caprine animals听(GBHC听586)听

Croatia听reported their first case of PPR听on听14 December听2025:听. This outbreak听was confirmed听on听13 December 2025 in sheep in听Bogdanovi膰i, in the municipality of Prgomet in听Split-Dalmatia听county.听
The UK Office for SPS Trade Assurance will amend its country listings shortly to temporarily suspend imports from Croatia of the following commodities:听听
- live sheep and goats听
- ovine and caprine germplasm听
- raw milk and raw milk products derived from ovine and caprine animals听
The UK Office for SPS Trade Assurance is听also听coordinating the delivery of听safeguard听declarations听to prohibit the import听from听Croatia听of untreated听wool听and听hair听and untreated hides听and skins听of sheep and goats.听听
Separate OVS notes听will be issued when these restrictions are implemented.听In the meantime,听any consignments听from听Croatia听of听the above-mentioned commodities听should be held.听听
