To align with the Post Office (Horizon System) Offences Bill we now use the term 鈥榬edress鈥� rather than 鈥榗ompensation鈥� when referring to payments made through the schemes being administered by Post Office and the Department for Business and Trade.

As of 31 March 2026, the total value of HSSA redress payments was reported to be 拢4 million and the total Horizon redress paid was reported to be 拢1,517 million. A re-evaluation of spend on the HSSA scheme before 31 March 2026 showed that the total value of HSSA redress payments was 拢7 million, making the total redress paid equal 拢1,519 million as of 31 March 2026. Each of these figures is rounded to the nearest million. Information added to 'Post Office Horizon redress legal costs data as of 31 March 2026' under heading 1.1 and 2.1 to clarify that DBT expects HSSA legal costs as a share of redress to fall substantially as the scheme progresses.
