This direction has closed. A direction issued on 6 December 2019 replaces it.
This revised direction requires the council to enter into a contractual arrangement with Plymouth City council by 1 April 2018.
This follows an independent report by the Commissioner for Children鈥檚 Services in Torbay which recommended that the council should enter into a contractual arrangement with Plymouth City council to deliver its children鈥檚 services.
An judged the overall effectiveness of those services to be inadequate.
This direction replaces the earlier statutory direction issued to the council in October 2017.
