1. About this release听

This quarterly statistics report presents how many premises in the United Kingdom have received a gigabit-capable broadband connection听as a result of听BDUK subsidy. The figures cover premises that received gigabit-capable coverage through Building Digital UK (BDUK) subsidy听over the last听quarter,听between 1听October听2025听and 31听December听2025.听听This publication includes updates to previously reported delivery figures. Full details of these changes are provided in Section 4.2.听

BDUK has improved its workflow processes, enabling us to report on quarterly delivery with a shorter lag.听From this point forward, each release will include data for a single听new听quarter, alongside cumulative totals.听

2. Headline findings听

  • We estimate that BDUK interventions delivered听56,000听premises with gigabit-capable coverage between 1听October听2025听and 31 December听2025听(Q3听2025/26).听听

  • A cumulative estimate of听1,373,800听premises听have听received gigabit-capable coverage by BDUK鈥檚 gigabit programmes since their inception.听听听

  • Of the premises delivered by BDUK between 1听October听2025听and 31听December听2025:听

    • 75% (41,830) were delivered under听Gigabit contracts, or听Government Infrastructure Subsidy (GIS)听
    • 18% (10,150) were delivered by vouchers听
    • 7% (4,050) were delivered by Superfast & Hubs听

  • 90% (50,200) of the premises delivered between 1听October听2025听and 31听December 2025听were classified as residential premises and听10% (5,400)听were classified as commercial premises.听听

  • The highest delivery听between 1听October听2025听and 31 December 2025听was in England (80%,听45,100听premises), followed by Scotland (11%,听6,200听premises), Wales (9%,听4,800听premises), and Northern Ireland (< 50听premises)听

  • Yorkshire and the Humber had the highest delivery听between听1听October听2025听and 31 December 2025听among English regions (19% of England,听8,700), followed by the East听of England听(18%,听8,100) and the听North West听(17%,听7,700).听

This bulletin presents quarterly official statistics on the delivery performance of BDUK (Building Digital UK) from听October 2025 to Dec 2025. It includes breakdowns by:听

4.2 Changes from听previous听releases听

This is BDUK鈥檚听third听official quarterly statistics publication, covering delivery performance from听October听to听December听2025, and revising earlier time series. These figures听build听on those published in the听BDUK delivery performance, quarterly: April 2025 to Sept 2025 - 扒哥吃瓜.听

BDUK updates its historical time series with each release to reflect improved supplier reporting. Revisions may alter the original delivery date or correct the number of premises passed.听听

Key revisions听

  • Superfast delivery: A total of听5,570听additional听premises听have听been incorporated into the figures reported to 30 September 2025 (total reported in BDUK delivery performance, quarterly: April 2025 to Sept 2025,听801,840). This change is primarily attributable to the Scottish Government and听North Devon (South West)听contracts, now approaching closure. As part of suppliers鈥� data consolidation processes, historic figures have been reviewed and updated.听We have also removed 1,000 premises from the听Superfast delivery figures, which听did听not form part of the contracted intervention area or overspill delivery.听听听

  • GIS:听A further 4,920 premises have now been included in the Gigabit Infrastructure Subsidy (GIS) delivery figures previously reported in BDUK delivery performance, quarterly April to Sept 2025, as part of the standard process of incorporating newly submitted听and updated delivery data听and processed delivery data听from suppliers.听听

This, together with minor adjustments to the delivery figures for Vouchers (70) and Hubs (20), results听in a net increase of 10,580 premises passed between Before 1 April 2021 and 30 September 2025 as reported in BDUK delivery performance, quarterly: April 2025 to Sept 2025.听

Methodological improvements

BDUK updates its historical time series with each release. This is because BDUK works closely with suppliers to improve the quality of their reporting; when improvements are made, we may receive revised information that alters the original delivery date of a premises or corrects the number of premises passed. This has resulted in听changes to historical data, with movement between interventions and delivery periods.听听听

Known issues

BDUK is currently working on听a methodology听to improve the identification of Unique Property Reference Numbers (UPRNs) for addresses which currently do not have an associated one; this will improve the accuracy of our counting听methodology. BDUK is also investigating its听vouchers鈥櫶齞ata quality.
