When you can appeal聽

驰辞耻谤听local planning authority聽may send you a discontinuance notice about displaying an advertisement or sign on your house or building.听

You can appeal against a discontinuance notice if you own, rent or lawfully occupy the property or land it applies to.听

Before you make your appeal, you should聽enter into聽discussions with the local planning authority. We encourage you to continue these discussions, during the appeal. This will help to narrow the areas in dispute. You should make your appeal only when all else has failed.听

Anyone can聽comment on an appeal.听

There鈥檚聽no fee for appealing.听

Deadline for appealing聽

Your appeal must be received within 8 weeks of the date the discontinuance notice is served.听

Make an appeal聽

You will need to complete an application form and send this by email to the Planning Inspectorate.听You will be asked to provide details of why you are appealing and聽submit聽documents that support your appeal.听

Preparing your documents聽

You can聽submit聽the documents as any of these file types, as long as聽they鈥檙e聽smaller than聽50MB:聽

• DOC or DOCX聽
• JPG or JPEG聽

• TIF or TIFF聽

Make sure all documents are fully readable without any redacted text.听
