Information on business continuity procedures for Goods Vehicle Movement Service.
HMRC provides an update of all Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) service availability and issues. In听the event of听an unplanned outage听affecting HMRC systems, HMRC will issue guidance to carriers and hauliers. This will clarify whether goods may听proceed听without听following the听normal processes and procedures. Such permission is听strictly limited听to outages within HMRC鈥檚 systems and requires explicit written authorisation from HMRC.听
Once service has resumed, HMRC will notify carriers by email听and听on HMRC service availability pages to听confirm the conclusion of Business Continuity Procedures. From that point onward, standard procedures will be reinstated and must be followed.听
