Hazard
The product聽presents聽a serious risk of injury聽as the product specifications require that zinc-plating聽is聽used on the fasteners. Testing confirmed that cadmium-plating had been used during the manufacturing process.聽There is a risk that the incorrect plating on the fasteners can cause the bolt to fracture at temperatures exceeding 232掳C which could result in process leakage,聽serious injury or property damage.聽聽
The Fasteners do not聽comply with聽the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and the applicable standards,聽EN聽10204-3.1 and EN 10204-3.2
Corrective action
The product has been recalled聽by Sempell GmbH, who have contacted affected customers directly with a Safety Notice.
