Detail of outcome

The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government has decided to implement, subject to Parliamentary approval, the proposal for 4 unitary councils to be established in Lancashire, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool.

This proposal was submitted by:

  • Chorley Borough Council
  • Lancaster City Council
  • Preston City Council
  • Ribble Valley Borough Council
  • South Ribble Borough Council
  • West Lancashire Borough Council
