Detail of outcome

The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government has decided to implement, subject to Parliamentary approval, the proposal for 2 unitary councils to be established in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

This proposal was submitted by:

  • East Staffordshire Borough Council
  • Stafford Borough Council
  • Cannock Chase District Council
  • and also by Stoke-on-Trent City Council
