Who we areÂ
The Fair Work Agency (FWA) is responsible for enforcing workers’ rights. We’re a single point of contact for workers who believe their rights have not been upheld.Ìý
We have the power to inspect, investigate and penalise businesses that do not uphold workers’ rights.Ìý
The agency was formed in April 2026.Ìý
It combines the powers of the former:Â
-
Gangmasters and Labour Abuse AuthorityÂ
-
Employment Agency Standards InspectorateÂ
-
National Minimum Wage enforcement teamÂ
-
Office of the Director of Labour Market EnforcementÂ
We employ over 150 staff based in London, Cardiff, Birmingham, Salford and Nottingham.Ìý
The Fair Work Agency is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Business and Trade.Ìý
