About Connect to Work
Connect to Work, part of Pathways to Work, is a voluntary, locally commissioned, Supported Employment programme. It provides intensive, holistic support for people who are disabled, have long-term health conditions or complex non-health related barriers to work. Participants do not need to be on benefits and Connect to Work supports both people who are keen to find work and individuals who are in work but at risk of falling out of work as a result of their condition or barrier.
Connect to Work covers all of England and Wales, with the exception of the Greater Manchester Mayoral Combined Authority area, which will be using their Connect to Work funding to pilot their Prevention Demonstrator through their Integrated Settlement.
In England, seven Established Mayoral Strategic Authorities areas (EMSAs) are receiving their Connect to Work funding through Integrated Settlements for Mayoral Combined Authorities.
Finding local Connect to Work areas
You can find the Connect to Work delivery areas in Annex D of the Grant Guidance or in the ‘Find your Connect to Work service’ document, which provides the direct links to information published by local authorities about their Connect to Work programme. These links help you find details about how Connect to Work is delivered in each local area and how to apply or help someone make a referral. Employers keen to support Connect to Work can also find helpful contacts for their local area through these links.
Some local Connect to Work programmes are not yet open for Participants. Where this is the case, the document will provide information about when the programme is expected to begin providing support.
We will be updating the document monthly, until all areas are open (the document includes its publication date). You may find it helpful to check the website for the lead Connect to Work authority for your area in between these times; the document confirms the lead authority for each area. All information is correct at the time of publication.
Grant Guidance
This Grant Guidance provides detailed policy and delivery information to support Connect to Work lead authorities (Accountable Bodies) to deliver their own local Connect to Work offers, working with local partners and in agreement with the Department for Work and Pensions. There is separate Grant Guidance for England and for Wales.
The information contained within this guidance is also likely to be useful to key local partners such as other Upper Tier and Unitary local authorities in the Delivery Area, strategic health bodies, Supported Employment providers, employers and business representative bodies and voluntary and community organisations.
