Details

The UK AI Hardware Plan sets out how the UK will develop, demonstrate, deploy and scale the chips and semiconductor technologies that underpin AI. It is delivered through 4 aligned pillars: innovation, skills, procurement and investment, with international partnerships central to each.

The plan builds on the AI Opportunities Action Plan and aligns with the Modern Industrial Strategy and Digital and Technologies Sector Plan. As the UK invests in AI and compute infrastructure, it aims to ensure more value is captured through UK-designed technologies, supporting economic growth and high‑value job creation while strengthening economic security.
